Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied claims that former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi regrets his affiliation with the APC and is considering rejoining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement posted in Port Harcourt on Monday, Eze branded the rumours spreading on social media as false, calling them fiction by “mischief makers and media irritants” seeking to destroy Amaechi’s reputation.
Eze further stated that Amaechi, a senior player in the APC, remains devoted to the party’s goal and vision and has no intention of quitting it.

Amaechi, a former Rivers State governor and long-time APC member, played an important role in the party’s growth in the South-South. Despite opponents’ attempts to stir up controversy, Eze highlighted his unshakable allegiance.

Eze stated, “Normally, I would not have responded to this deliberate but yet another concocted false narrative by one faceless paper tiger, who always deceptively tags himself as Mr. Ibe.”

“However, I am compelled to respond since these recent media attacks highlight Amaechi’s status as a pragmatic political czar, visionary, team player, and a force to be reckoned with in terms of genuine democratic government and leadership in Nigeria.

“For those of us in the Amaechi camp, those selling these lies in order to throw doubt on our principal’s character are individuals battling to overcome the fear of the unknown syndrome.

“Amaechi’s absence in the political sphere of our country for more than a year has generated restless nights, inconceivable terror, and palpable tension among his adversaries. You must not play mind games with falsehoods or drag Amaechi’s image through the mud because you regard him as a potential threat in the transition to the next political regime.”

He further stated: “Amaechi has been vocal about the troubling ineptitude and docile posture of the APC-led Federal Government over the hostile economic situation in the country, apparently reinforced by the thoughtless policies of the administration, which have successfully driven Nigeria into its present hapless fate and have continued progressively to commandeer the people deeper and deeper into abject poverty.”
