James Ojo Alleh, the highest CGPA holder in the history of University of Benin UNIBEN, graduated with a 4.98 CGPA in Petroleum Engineering. He received the N500,000 “Trig Energy Academic Prize for Akoko-Edo Students” during the 49th and 50th combined convocation ceremonies, celebrated for his academic excellence.
James Ojo Alleh, a graduate of Petroleum Engineering, has made history as the highest CGPA holder at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) with an exceptional 4.98 CGPA. His academic feat was celebrated during UNIBEN’s 49th and 50th convocation ceremonies, where he received the “Trig Energy Academic Prize for Akoko-Edo Students,” an award sponsored by Mr. Humphrey Teddy Adewumi, CEO of Trig Energy Ltd.

The N500,000 award, presented at UNIBEN’s Ugbowo Campus, recognizes Alleh’s dedication to academic excellence. Represented by Ogunnubi Kingsley Princewill, Mr. Adewumi commended Alleh’s perseverance, calling his achievement a source of pride for Akoko-Edo and an inspiration for students nationwide.

Dignitaries present included Prof. Clement Ighodaro, Dean of Students’ Affairs; Prof. Emmanuel Ogujor, Dean of Engineering; Dr. Ikpomwonsa Ohenhen, Head of Petroleum Engineering; and other prominent figures. The ceremony underscored the importance of education and the power of resilience, with speakers encouraging students to emulate Alleh’s remarkable dedication.

Trig Energy Ltd, a Nigerian oil marketing company specializing in aviation fuel services, established the award to honor outstanding academic performances and motivate students from Akoko-Edo. Mr. Adewumi emphasized the transformative impact of education and urged youths to strive for excellence, reaffirming Trig Energy’s commitment to supporting educational pursuits.

Alleh’s accomplishment stands as a testament to hard work and determination, inspiring future generations to aim for greatness within and beyond the classroom.
