Hon Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, died.
A trustworthy source, who preferred not to be identified, confirmed to Correspondent in Ado Ekiti.
According to the source, Justice Adeyeye died in the early hours of the day.
Correspondent’s investigation showed that Justice Adeyeye has been indisposed since July 12, 2023, due to a critical injury received when a piece of the state high court complex wall collapsed on him in his office in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Although no formal announcement has been published to announce his death, the state’s society of foreign female lawyers, FIDA, has sent condolences to the family.
The condolence statement read: “With deep sorrow in our hearts and total submission to God’s will, FIDA Ekiti consoles the family of Hon Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, Chief Judge of Ekiti State, on his call to glory.”

When approached for confirmation, Ekiti state Chairperson of FIDA, Oyinade Olatunbosun, confirmed to our correspondent that she will send a signed statement as soon as it is ready.
Justice Adeyeye was born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government of Ekiti State, and admitted to the bar in 1986. He began his career as a State Counsel in the Civil Service of the former Ondo State before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission immediately after the state was established in 1996.
He was appointed a judge of the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and has previously served on the election petition tribunal.
