The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State CP Olusegun Omosanyin has affirmed the police command has zero tolerance for crime as he cautions officers against unprofessionalism in the discharge of thier duty .
CP Omosanyin who is in his 4th week as commissioner in the state displayed his stance against unprofessional conducts when he swiftly addressed extortion by operatives of the Anti-cultism unit which was reported in the media involving some youngsters and the monies extorted from them were refunded to the victims within 24 hours of the report following the CP ‘s prompt intervention.
Following his swift response, parents of the young victims who had expressed worry over the safety of their wards in the surrounding universities of the state have applauded CP Omosanyin saying that he has renewed thier hope that thier children will be safe, and feel free to go about thier lives and studies without harassment and being extorted .
CP Omosanyin also stated that there will be no hiding place for criminal elements amongst the citizens as the command under his watch provides robust security for the residents and visitors and if found culpable of a criminal act after due investigation criminals will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
CP Omosanyin urged the residents to feel free to report any incident of crime or suspicious activities , stating that his office is open to receive information , assuring that the residents identities will not be compromised. He said “If you see something, say something,” he added.
Following recent achievements, CP Olusegun Omosanyin noted that the command is prepared to serve wholeheartedly to ensure the safety of the people. He advised that indigenes should be law abiding , avoid late-night walks, put in place safety and security measures in their environs,desist from criminal activities, and avoid situations capable of breaching public peace.
