Four suspects who allegedly killed a Uber driver in Lagos on Thursday have been arrested and paraded by the Lagos State Police Command.

Disclosing this incident while briefing journalists on Saturday at the Commands Headquarters in Ikeja, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olawale, explained that the arrest of the suspects was part of the sustained effort of the Police to keep Lagosians safe before, during and after yuletide season.

According to him, from September till date suspects, were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, carjacking, murder, kidnapping, abortion, gender-based violence, cyber-bullying, cult activities, illegal possession of firearms, and vandalism.

Giving details into the killing, the police boss said that the Uber driver was killed in an ugly circumstance by the suspects: Emeka Akwara, 19 years old, David Segun, 21 years old, Samuel Ariori, 21 years old and Lukman Ariori, 19 years old have been subsequently charged to court.

According to the CP, “They hired a Uber man, inside his Toyota Camry, they apprehended him, stabbed to death. It was a chaos that alerted our operatives. Two of them first ran away. We were able to arrest two. But the man was in the pool of his blood. The man is dead now.

“With proper investigation, they led us to where we arrested the other two. So four of them, flagged down a ride, and killed the owner of the Uber,” the CP said.
