A prison representative has disclosed to the House of Representatives why crossdresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky was not locked up in a general cell.

The prison official appeared before the Joint Committee of the House of Representatives investigating allegations of corruption against some officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

DCC Michael Anuga while testifying before the House of Representatives investigation panel on Monday said that Bobrisky was not placed in the general cell at Kirikiri Maximum Prison because he possesses female features, including breasts.

‘’During his admission, we discovered that Idris has a peculiar feature that can not allow us to put him in a general apartment. Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju had female features. He has breasts.”

DCC Anuga stated further that a medical personnel was invited to test the controversial transvestite and after completion of examination she certified that he (Bobrisky) indeed had breasts.

‘’With this admission, the board had to enter into a meeting to discuss the best way to manage him. We concluded that we had to put him in protective custody. He spent his time in B-ward room 2 of the facility and alone in that particular room. Why we did that is because we have to abide by the international best practices and according to our laws.”
